A man convicted of stabbing a pediatrician to death in Conroe in 2023 has learned his sentence.

Miles Joseph Fridrich, 27, was sentenced by a Montgomery County jury to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of 52-year-old Dr. Talat Jehan Khan.

Dr. Talat Khan moved from Seattle to Conroe, Texas for a sunnier, happier life. Three months later, the beloved pediatrician was stabbed to death at a picnic table outside her apartment.

The murder happened on Oct. 28, 2023. Conroe police officers responded to a weapons disturbance at the Alys Apartments in the 15000 block of Mansions View Drive. When they arrived, they found Dr. Khan suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through witness information and the quick actions of responding officers, a perimeter was established, and Fridrich was located and taken into custody a short distance from the scene.

“While today’s sentencing brings a measure of justice, we recognize that no sentence can undo the tragic loss of Dr. Khan. Our thoughts remain with her family, friends, and loved ones as they continue to grieve,” the Conroe Police Department said.
